A popular question once you have booked your wedding photography is “do we go for the engagement shoot?!!”
The prospect of being photographed on your wedding day, let alone on a pre wedding shoot for some, can feel a little overwhelming (trust me I feel exactly the same in front of a camera!) but the truth is that in my experience it’s never as bad as you think it’s going to be!
Feedback is generally that it’s a hugely helpful thing to do to eliminate any nerves and is good practise for knowing what to expect in front of the camera! It really is a very relaxed and fun thing to do, with the added bonus of some lovely photos to keep at the end!
I usually ask where you would like your shoot taken, if you have a favourite place to walk or visit as it’s nice to keep things both personal and informal. Your wedding venue, if it has vast grounds is often a good choice too. To be honest a good muddy walk in the woods with the kids and dog is a popular one!
I recently met up with Kerry & Dan who are getting married at the very beautiful Hayne House later this Spring. We met at Lyminge Woods on Saturday with their little boy Freddie, who was just brilliant and came fully charged with an enormous stash of energy!
