Barfreston Church + Farm Wedding
Chelsea & Doug
8th August 2020
This was my first wedding of the year and was over the moon to finally be able to pick up my camera!
Covid certainly has left a big hole in my calendar and have really felt for couples that have had to postpone or re think their day.
Funnily enough, Chelsea and Doug had only booked me a few weeks before lock down and before weddings had become restricted and so we had no idea that they would end up being my first wedding of 2020.
This certainly was a great wedding to get me back into the swing of things.
They were so very relaxed about the whole thing and being on a working farm, were still pottering around with last minute tasks when I arrived.
Bridal prep was at the farm house and I was greeted by host of chickens, dogs and small children trying to their best to keep cool. It was such a hot day, right in the middle of a heatwave!
Chelsea had amazing wedding wellies and drove herself to the church over the road in her shiny red tractor. This is probably the coolest entrance I have ever seen!
The church was having to follow the restrictions and so had half the amount of benches filled with close family. But this didn’t take away form the ceremony and it was lovely to see them finally get married.
The ceremony was back on the farm and was socially distanced with huge hay bales spread outside and a big open barn that had been converted for the occasion.
Lots of their guests had been in lockdown with them, as many of their friends and family work on the farm and so it felt a little more relaxed.
I loved visiting the cows and watching them trying eat the bouquet. Which I was lucky enough to catch on camera!
So happy that you got to have your day.
Best wishes to you both. Thank you for having me there on your special day!
