Hayne House Summer Wedding
Sarah & Mitchell
Where did you meet?
We met in our hometown of Folkestone. Mitch had posted an advert for a roommate and a good friend of mine moved in – he invited me round to check out his new place but warned me I probably wouldn’t like his shy roomate – four years later he was best man at our wedding.
The proposal?
We got engaged 1000ft in the air on a canopy bridge in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador, it had been my childhood dream to visit the amazon and this made it the perfect trip.
Why did you chose your venue?
We loved how friendly and laidback the vibe was as we just wanted a casual day to relax with our family and friends in a beautiful setting.
Did you have a particular style or theme?
Travel theme with tables named after countries we have visited together, we had an airport departures board to show the seating plan and placed luggage labels and photos from our trips on each table.
What was your first dance track?
Stand by Me – Tracey Chapman performed by the band
Most memorable highlight?
Dancing til the early hours with all of our loved ones
How would you sum up your day?
Perfect, relaxed day, everything flowed perfectly and we were smiling all day
Do you have any planning tips/advise for other couples?
Remember to spend time with your closest friends/family on the day and not get swept into spending time with every single guest if you have a large wedding – you’ll have a lot of more distant guests but your nearest and dearest are who you’ll treasure the memories with
From your experience what would you say was the most important things to have?
The photo are invaluable in helping you remember all the little moments – especially all the candid shots and moments
